Amethi Murder Case: Chandan's Regret, Questions Raised on the Killing of Children

Amethi: Chandan Verma, the accused in the murder case in Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh, was discharged from the hospital on Saturday. The victims, Sunil, his wife, and their two children, were cremated, with Swami Prasad Maurya also in attendance. During a conversation with journalists, Chandan expressed regret for his actions. When asked about the reason for killing the children, he admitted, "It was a mistake." The police stated that Chandan could be presented in court today, initiating further legal proceedings in this case.
Accused Chandan in the Amethi Murder Case Killed in Police Encounter
On Thursday night, Chandan Verma arrived at teacher Sunil's house and brutally shot Sunil, his wife, and their two children. The police acted swiftly and arrested Chandan on Friday morning. After the arrest, while the police were taking him to recover the weapon used in the murder, he attempted to seize the officer's gun and tried to escape. In response, the police fired back, injuring Chandan in the leg. This incident spread panic throughout the area and highlighted the seriousness of the police action.
Poonam Raised Her Voice: FIR Filed Against Chandan
The brother of the deceased Poonam stated that his sister had no relationship with Chandan, but several messages were found in Chandan's WhatsApp chats, revealing the truth. Information about video calls between the two also surfaced. Poonam had filed a case against Chandan under the SC-ST Act and for harassment. In retaliation, Chandan threatened Sunil's family that he would eliminate them. On Thursday, Chandan came to the area on his Bullet bike, parked it at a mobile shop, and then went to Sunil's house and knocked on the door.
