Amethi, UP: In the case of the murder of four members of a Dalit family in Amethi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi spoke with the victim's family and assured them of justice, punishment for the culprits, and all possible help and compensation. Sonia Gandhi also expressed condolences to the family. Amethi MP Kishori Lal Sharma facilitated Rahul's conversation with the victim's father and was present there as well. Rahul stated that if the victim's family does not receive justice, he will personally come to provide assistance. Today, Congress state president Ajay Rai will also visit Amethi and Raebareli to meet the victim's family, intensifying political activities surrounding the case.
Main Accused Chandan Verma's Family is Absconding
The family of Chandan Verma, the main accused in the Amethi murder case, is absconding, and their house is locked. Chandan Verma is a resident of Raebareli, just like the deceased Dalit family. On Thursday, in Amethi, teacher Sunil Kumar, his wife Poonam Bharti, and their two children were shot dead.
Amethi Murder Case: A New Political Twist
The Amethi murder case has intensified political activity, with the BSP, SP, and Congress condemning the incident. Samajwadi Party spokesperson Sunil Singh Sajan stated that this incident reflects the lawlessness in Uttar Pradesh. He termed it a massacre, emphasizing that even a one-year-old child was not spared. Sajan questioned the inaction of the Uttar Pradesh police and pointed out that the Chief Minister boasts about law and order in other states while crime incidents are increasing in his own state.
