Delhi Police's Shocking Seizure: ₹2000 Crores Worth of Drugs Hidden in Snack Packets
Delhi Police seized cocaine worth ₹2000 crores, which was hidden in packets of snacks. This operation followed last month’s seizure of drugs worth ₹5600 crores, and a total of seven suspects have been arrested so far.
Delhi News: The Special Cell of Delhi Police seized cocaine worth approximately ₹2000 crores on Thursday, which was hidden in snack packets. This operation followed last month's seizure of drugs worth ₹5600 crores. So far, a total of seven people have been arrested, helping to uncover the drug trafficking network.
The Special Cell achieved a significant success on Thursday when they confiscated cocaine valued at around ₹2000 crores. Notably, this shipment of drugs was concealed in packets of snacks. The police tracked the suspect's location using GPS and carried out a successful raid, recovering nearly 200 kilograms of cocaine. This marks the second major operation by Delhi Police in a week, following the earlier seizure of drugs worth ₹5600 crores.
According to officials, the drug syndicate was exposed when the car used to transport the cocaine was equipped with GPS. The investigation revealed that the suspect has fled to London. This seizure is linked to the previous case, which involved over 560 kilograms of cocaine and 40 kilograms of hydroponic marijuana.
Historic Success for Delhi Police:
On October 2, a large quantity of drugs was seized from a warehouse in Mahipalpur, South Delhi. Four individuals—Aurangzeb Siddiqui (23), Himanshu Kumar (27), Tushar Goyal (40), and Bharat Kumar Jain (48)—were arrested at the scene. Two other suspects were later apprehended in Chennai and Amritsar. Another suspect, Akhlaq, was arrested the previous day in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, who was involved in the supply of drugs in North India.
Payment Made in Cryptocurrency:
Delhi Police have issued a Lookout Circular (LOC) against Virender Basoya, a Dubai-based businessman of Indian origin, who is suspected to be involved in a drug cartel worth ₹5620 crores. The investigation revealed that he was operating a drug syndicate from London. He sent two people with a shipment of drugs that were brought from London to Ramesh Nagar. The police also found that payments for the drugs were made in the cryptocurrency USDT, making it easier to conceal transactions
