MD. Siraj Becomes DSP: The Journey from Cricketer to Police Officer

MD. Siraj Becomes DSP: Following Team India's victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, the Telangana government decided to offer Mohammad Siraj a Group-1 job. Similarly, two-time world champion boxer Nikhat Zareen was also given a Group-1 position in the DSP cadre. To facilitate this, the state government amended the 1994 Act. Nikhat Zareen took charge on September 18, and now Siraj has also assumed his new role. Additionally, Siraj has been allocated 600 square yards of land in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, where he will build his home.

Mohammad Siraj will rest during the ongoing 3 T20 matches against Bangladesh but will be seen playing in the upcoming 3 home Test matches against New Zealand. Siraj made his Test debut against the Kiwis in November 2017. So far, he has taken 78 wickets in 29 Test matches, 71 wickets in 44 ODIs, and 14 wickets in 16 T20 internationals. His outstanding performance has made him a crucial member of Team India, and fans are excited about his upcoming games.
