Loharidih Incident: Bhupesh Baghel Reveals Names of 167 People in FIR, Does the Government Want to Punish the Entire Village

Raipur: The Congress party has been continuously targeting the government over the incident that occurred in Loharidih village in Kawardha district. This issue has become significant for the Congress, and its senior leader, former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, has been demanding answers from the government through repeated press conferences. Today, Baghel held a new press conference where he released a list of 167 names mentioned in the FIR related to the murder of Raghunath Sahu, which the police had not yet made public. This list includes 137 from the Sahu community, 20 from the Yadav community, 8 from the tribal community, 1 from the Manikpuri community, and 1 from the Patel community. Baghel has raised serious questions about the government’s policies regarding this matter, intensifying the political atmosphere.

Bhupesh Baghel has made serious allegations about the police investigation in the Loharidih incident, asserting that the police acted negligently. Baghel stated that the names of 167 individuals were included in the FIR based on the statement of the deceased Raghunath Sahu's son, Vinod Sahu, while it was necessary to collect statements from the entire village. He alleged that several people whose names are included in the FIR were not even in the village on the day of the incident. Moreover, many innocent individuals, who are facing the threat of arrest, are outside the village.

Baghel also pointed out that some names included in the FIR have no connection to the incident, raising concerns that any innocent person could be implicated in the future. He questioned the government, asking whether it intends to punish the entire village, given that arrests have been made under serious charges. He demanded that the case be re-investigated and that the innocent be released.
