Attack on Attendant: Juvenile Delinquents Escape After Snatching Keys from Municipal Guard
Four juvenile delinquents escaped from the government juvenile observation home located in the Baronda market of Mahasamund after attacking a municipal guard and an attendant to snatch the keys. The police have launched a search for them, raising concerns about the security arrangements
Mahasamund: Four juvenile delinquents have escaped from the government juvenile observation home located in Baronda market. According to reports, before fleeing, these boys attacked a municipal guard and an attendant with stones, injuring both. Afterward, they snatched the keys from the injured individuals and escaped through the gate. Both of the injured have been referred to Raipur after receiving primary treatment.
Among the four escaped juvenile delinquents, two were held for theft, one for rape, and one for drug trafficking (marijuana). Two of these boys are from Gariyaband, one from Balodabazar, and one from Saraiyapali-Mahasamund. This incident raises serious questions about the security of the juvenile observation home, especially since there have been previous incidents of juvenile escapes.
The juvenile observation officer reported the escape of the boys to the Kotwali police, after which the police began their search. Police have started conducting raids in the area and are monitoring potential hideouts. This incident has also raised concerns about the local administration's effectiveness, highlighting the need to strengthen the security arrangements at the juvenile observation home.
