He set the record for the season's fastest delivery at 155.8 km/h and then broke his own record by bowling at 156.7 km/h in the next match.

However, he managed to take only 7 wickets in 4 matches and was sidelined for the season due to a hamstring injury. Mayank has been working on his fitness under BCCI's supervision, resulting in his first call-up to the Indian team. Additionally, Nitish Kumar Reddy has also been included in the squad.
