New Delhi | In the Test match being played in Chennai, India has pushed Bangladesh onto the back foot. The Indian team batted first, scoring 376 runs, which included outstanding performances from Ravichandran Ashwin (113) and Ravindra Jadeja (86), who shared a crucial partnership of 199 runs. India began the second day at 339 runs for six wickets but quickly lost their remaining four wickets while adding just 37 runs
.

The first wicket of the second day fell when Ravindra Jadeja was out for 86 runs. Following that, Akash Deep was dismissed for 17 runs, and finally, Ravichandran Ashwin, unable to extend his century, returned to the pavilion after scoring 113 runs, dismissed by Taskin Ahmed. Taskin Ahmed delivered a brilliant bowling performance on the second day, taking three wickets, including those of Ashwin, Jadeja, and Akash Deep. Hasan Mahmud was Bangladesh's most successful bowler, taking five wickets for 83 runs.

In response to 376 runs, Bangladesh's start was extremely poor. Jasprit Bumrah struck first, clean bowling Shadman Islam in the very first over when Bangladesh's score was just 2 runs. Akash Deep then delivered lethal bowling, dismissing Zakir Hasan (3) and Mominul Haque (0) with consecutive deliveries, further pushing Bangladesh onto the back foot. By lunch, Bangladesh's score was three wickets for 36 runs, with captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (15) and Mushfiqur Rahim (4) struggling at the crease.

The strong performance of the Indian bowlers has put Bangladesh in a difficult position, and on the second day of the match, the Bangladesh team is under significant pressure.
