In the encounter on the Dantewada and Narayanpur border, 31 Naxalites were neutralized, including prominent wanted Naxalites. Security forces recovered several deadly weapons, while in 2024, 188 Naxalites' bodies have been found, 706 have been arrested, and 733 have surrendered.
Dantewada | Security forces achieved a significant success against Naxalites on the Dantewada-Narayanpur border. In an encounter, 31 Naxalites were neutralized, including 18 men and 13 women. Bastar Police IG Sundar Raj P. stated in a press conference that the deceased Naxalites included wanted individuals with a bounty of ₹1.3 crore, among them was policy head Niti alias Urmila, who was in charge of Eastern Bastar, with a bounty of ₹25 lakh. Additionally, Naxalites with a bounty of ₹8 lakh and other cadres from the PLGA company were also killed in this encounter. The identification of 15 Naxalites has been confirmed, while the identification of others is ongoing.

Dantewada Encounter: Security Forces Recovered Advanced Weapons
From the encounter site, security forces recovered one LMG, four AK-47s, six SLRs, three INSAS rifles, and two .303 rifles, along with many other weapons. Additionally, a large quantity of automatic weapons was also found. These recoveries demonstrate the success of this operation, highlighting the capabilities of security forces against Naxalites.
Success of Security Forces: Operation Based on Accurate Intelligence
Bastar Police IG Sundar Raj P. stated that a joint team of DRG and STF from Dantewada and Narayanpur conducted an important operation. Security forces received precise information about the presence of Naxalites from the Eastern Bastar Division and PLGA Company 6, leading to the operation starting on October 3. The encounter took place in the Nendur-Thulthuli forest on October 4. Dantewada Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai mentioned that this encounter has created a climate of fear among Naxalites in Eastern Bastar, urging local residents to abandon Naxalism and return to the mainstream. IG Sundar Raj highlighted the blows dealt to Naxalite organizations by security forces in 2024.
